Fashion and lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret has said that all critical systems that were impacted by the cyber attack it suffered last month have been restored.
In May, the US lingerie company addressed customers on its website, saying that it disabled its systems following a security incident.
“Valued customers, we identified and are taking steps to address a security incident. We have taken down our website and some in-store services as a precaution,” the company said.
“Our team is working around the clock to fully restore operations. We appreciate your patience during this process. In the meantime, our Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores remain open, and we look forward to serving you.”
Victoria’s Secret did not disclose any details of the incident, such as whether customer or company data could be at risk.
While the incident did impact the release of its earnings report, Victoria’s Secret has revealed that it has restored all of its critical systems.
“As previously announced, on May 24, 2025, subsequent to the end of the first quarter, we detected a security incident involving our information technology systems,” the company said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
“All critical systems are restored and fully operational. We continue to assess the full scope and impact of the incident. This incident has not caused a material disruption to our operations to date, and we do not believe it will have a material impact to our fiscal year 2025.
“The investigation remains ongoing, and we have incurred, and may continue to incur, expenses and other financial impacts related to this incident, which could negatively impact our future financial results.”
The threat actor behind the incident has not yet been identified, although some experts believe that this could be the same threat actor that targeted Marks & Spencer, Co-op, and Harrods in the UK – Scattered Spider and/or DragonForce.
A number of major US fashion retailers, including adidas, Dior, and Cartier, have also been plagued by cyber attacks.
