About Cyber Daily

Market intelligence, information and insights for Australia’s cyber sector.

In an increasingly complex and hostile climate the battlefield has been set around cyber.

It is therefore little surprise that the federal government will invest $1.67 billion over the coming decade to support a more secure cyber future for Australia.

Reflecting the rapidly changing landscape and a greater need for dedicated information, insights and market intelligence, Momentum Media has developed Cyber Daily.

A secure digital future is in the nation’s best interest and is the responsibility of all Australians.

Cyber Daily supports Momentum’s existing platforms Defence Connect and Space Connect, plus the wider Momentum network of brands (www.momentummedia.com.au), to promote the advancement of cyber and help Australia leverage digital technology for a better tomorrow.

A capable and competitive Australian cyber sector will underpin those industries and infrastructure critical to our economic prosperity, it will also buttress national security and national resilience while protecting the values of Australian society.

Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy 2020 details the opportunities for advancing Australia’s digital future plus the threats – including manipulation by state-based or state-sponsored actors as well as cyber criminals.

In 2017 alone $2.3 billion was stolen from consumers by cyber criminals; with $2.1 billion per year the estimated impact of identity crime in Australia.

Malicious actions from state-backed cyber actors is also expected to spike, with intent to compromise government and business networks to obtain economic, defence, legal, policy, intellectual property and security information for their advantage.

Cyber Daily is central to the transition to a digital society. Cyber Daily delivers information, intelligence, and education to the cross section of Australian businesses and institutions supporting this national agenda.

As well as big business and government, this also includes the small to medium businesses that employ over 70 per cent of all Australians and contribute 56 per cent of total valued added to Australian GDP.

Cyber Daily channels news and analysis to support this agenda daily, plus shares the insights, opinions and commentary from leading experts focusing on the crucial elements of a sound cyber strategy: people, process and technology.
