SolarWinds has announced a new artificial intelligence-powered tool – SolarWinds AI.

SolarWinds AI will be rolled out in SolarWinds Service Desk to begin with, where its generative AI engine will boost agent workflows and allow IT teams to resolve tickets quickly.

SolarWinds AI in Service Desk takes advantage of large language models to summarise complex case histories and can provide suggestions on how IT teams can respond to problems as they occur in real time. SolarWinds’ new generative AI engine will eventually be added throughout the company’s suite of IT management solutions, essentially becoming a “new digital partner”.

“In creating SolarWinds AI, we leveraged our long history of engaging with the IT community to build an AI system that could act as a valued partner to IT pros in their everyday lives and reimagine the productivity, efficiency, and innovation they’re capable of,” Krishna Sai, senior vice-president of engineering at SolarWinds (pictured), said in a statement.

The tool is built on SolarWinds’ new AI by Design framework, which is based on four principles: accountability and fairness, privacy and security, transparency and trust, and simplicity and accessibility.

“We believe that our new AI by Design framework sets a model for how the broader industry should approach AI, built on our belief that privacy, security, and trust must be inherent to any AI system,” Krishna said.
