The Australian Cyber Security Awards 2023 was launched in November last year and is being run with the support of principal partner Palo Alto Networks.

The cyber security industry was invited to throw their hat into the awards ring by submitting an entry or nominating a worthy colleague.

Cyber Security Connect received a total of 202 submissions, out of which, 125 finalists have been shortlisted to battle it out for 34 individual and group awards.

The Cyber Security Awards is an unparalleled program that will provide national recognition and shine a light on the top businesses and professionals in the cyber security sector across Australia.

It will recognise people and businesses rather than products and platforms, while universally acknowledging all cyber stakeholders in defence, insurance, cloud service technology, STEM, consultancy, and ransomware protection.

The awards ceremony will showcase the depth of talent in the cyber security community, distinguish businesses from their competitors so they can attract and retain the best talent, and strengthen their position to win cyber projects or contracts.

It will also affirm the sector’s essential role in safeguarding individuals, businesses, and the Commonwealth.

As the cyber security environment changes rapidly and threats increase, it has never been more important to recognise cyber security professionals who have dedicated themselves to protecting organisations and the prosperity of this nation.

The gala event will celebrate those who are keeping us safe.

The Cyber Security Awards is peer-reviewed by a well-respected judging panel that includes senior leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

The judging criteria is both quantitative and qualitative, and rewards growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence, contribution to the cyber sector, and passion for driving it forward.

“The Australian Cyber Security Awards is an opportunity to recognise the best and brightest in Australia’s dynamic cyber security industry,” Cyber Security Connect editor Liam Garman said.

“Not to be missed, the event has quickly become the cyber security industry’s night-of-nights.

“I look forward to celebrating with all of our amazing finalists and seeing you all there!”
