The new product release introduces an upgrade, Absolute’s patented Persistence® technology, to the company’s Application Resilience™ ecosystem.

Absolute is the world leader in endpoint resilience and is known for its line-up of self-healing software solutions.

The Persistence firmware, which is found in over 600 million endpoints, alongside unbreakable device connection, can be used to strengthen the health and resiliency of over 70 mission-critical security and business tools.

Absolute Software has identified the need for resilient security protocols, with analysis showing that non-resilient software may be working effectively in under 80 per cent of the devices they are installed on and 35 per cent in some cases.

In comparison, 95 per cent of devices using Absolute’s Application Resilience reported their security applications working effectively.

Demand for Application Resilience has also increased significantly, with 26 per cent more customers using it to monitor app health and behaviour. There is also a 42 per cent increase in the number of devices monitoring app health and autonomously reinstalling and repairing them when necessary.

“It is abundantly clear that in order to deliver both maximum protection and returns on security investments, critical controls must be constantly monitored and maintained,” said John Herrema, EVP of product and strategy at Absolute Software.

“Our unique intelligence repeatedly shows that complex device environments have put endpoint agents at constant risk of collision, decay, or being disabled by malicious or negligent users. By making the investments to continuously grow our Application Resilience ecosystem, we are enabling our customers to harden their defences against malicious attackers and strengthen overall security posture.”

Absolute Application Resilience is being used by a large number of organisations, with one US professional sports franchise making use of the technology to enable self-healing of its endpoint management and EDR solutions, reducing risk exposure and maintaining application health.
