Tranche 1 of the ICT 2284 OneDefence Data Program was announced by former assistant minister for Defence, the Hon Andrew Hastie, in April 2022.

The program is designed to improve Defence’s data security environment, data maturity and enhance the information available to the Australian Defence Force to use data as a warfighting capability.

KPMG was identified as the preferred systems integrator, leading companies including archTIS, Oracle and Microsoft.

As part of the consortium, it is expected that archTIS will manage the architecture’s QA and design governance and support the architecture’s design, governance and accreditation.

The contract for the first work order is expected to be valued at $230,043.

“We are actively working alongside KPMG Technologies and the OneDefence team as part of this significant, organisation-wide program to improve Defence’s secure data management practices,” Daniel Lai, archTIS managing director, said.

“As part of the initial component, this award will allow archTIS to share its expertise in data-centric security, playing a key role in the development of robust data management practices for the warfighter and the Defence organisation that supports them.”
