ThreatLocker has launched a tool designed to give organisations tighter control over autonomous AI agents as they take on tasks across applications, scripts, browsers and other services.
Zero Trust AI Control (ZTAIC) applies security restrictions outside AI deployments, limiting what agents can access, execute, and connect to, even when they invoke other applications to complete tasks.
The company said the approach addresses the limitations of relying on AI models to enforce their own behavioural guardrails, which may be bypassed or fail to prevent unexpected actions.
“The security challenge has fundamentally changed because AI agents aren’t just providing information anymore. They’re being used to take actions across an organisation’s environment,” said Danny Jenkins, ThreatLocker CEO and co-founder.
“Organisations around the world need a way to adopt AI with the peace of mind that they aren’t handing over the keys to their environments.”
ZTAIC includes recommended policies and pre-built guardrails that security teams can tailor to their environments, simplifying deployment while maintaining restrictions on agent activity.
Integrated with ThreatLocker Allowlisting and Web Content Control, the platform is designed to govern AI use across the deployment lifecycle, from which AI applications and browser-based services are permitted to run to what authorised agents can access and do.
ThreatLocker said the controls would allow organisations to adopt agentic AI while retaining independent security boundaries around its actions.
