Kinetic IT appoints Pierre Tagle to lead its cyber security practice

Australian technology services provider Kinetic IT has appointed Pierre Tagle as head of cyber security, tasking the industry veteran with expanding its security capabilities across government, critical infrastructure, and enterprise markets.

Tagle holds a PhD in computer science and brings more than 25 years of technology and cyber security experience across Australia and the Asia-Pacific, including senior roles at DXC Technology, Secureworks, and NTT.

He will lead Kinetic IT’s national cyber security practice, which spans security advisory, governance, identity and access management, threat and exposure management, cyber resilience, and its Australian-based sovereign Security Operations Centre.

Shane Quinn, managing director of professional services at Kinetic IT, said the appointment would build on the company’s experience supporting complex technology environments and critical services.

“Pierre has built and led cybersecurity capabilities across complex organisations and markets. He brings the experience, perspective, and leadership to help us build on what we already do well and shape a cyber practice with distinctly Australian relevance,” Quinn said in a statement.

Tagle said effective cyber security depended on understanding the technology and services organisations needed to keep running, as well as their evolving risk exposure.

He added the opportunity was to help customers identify vulnerabilities, prioritise security investment, and strengthen resilience, while supporting organisations to design, implement, and operate improvements.

“I’m excited to join an Australian company, to help build on its strong foundation, and make a meaningful contribution to the cybersecurity of Australia’s government and critical infrastructure sectors,” Tagle said.
