LexisNexis Risk Solutions has launched an AI-powered fraud scoring solution designed to identify more fraudulent transactions while reducing false positives.

In testing, Emailage Adaptive analysed email, IP, phone, address, and other signals to capture about 90 per cent of fraud among high-risk transactions, while reducing false positives by more than 80 per cent.

The AI-based system continuously learns from an organisation’s transaction data, fraud patterns and industry context, automatically recalibrating its models without manual intervention.

LexisNexis said the technology is designed for scenarios including account opening, account management, and payments.

Dell Technologies has used Emailage Adaptive to double its high-risk fraud capture rate while reducing manual reviews of low-risk transactions.

“The self-calibrating AI model has helped us modernise fraud prevention by minimising reliance on static rules and manual policy adjustments,” Jeremy Cole, director of business operations at Dell Technologies, said in a statement.

“Our fraud team can now calibrate less, act faster and approve more legitimate transactions with confidence.”

Fraud continues to impose a high cost on businesses. LexisNexis’ Cybercrime Report 2026 found that one in every 11 new account creations globally – about 9 per cent – is a fraudulent attempt.

Its True Cost of Fraud research found the impact extends well beyond the initial stolen amount, with US retail and ecommerce businesses losing more than US$5 in total costs for every US$1 of direct fraud loss.

“As generative AI scales, fraud attacks are now happening at a faster rate than most manual prevention strategies can keep pace with,” Kimberly Sutherland, global head of fraud and identity at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, said.
