BestPriceTravel Australia is an online travel agency that advertises itself as one of the largest Australian / Indian travel agencies around today. The company offers deals on flights, accommodation, travel insurance, car and coach hire, land tours and cruising.
The company was listed on an infamous hacking forum by arguably even more infamous threat actor 2019, who claimed to have stolen a wide variety of data, ranging from booking details, names, airline information, payment details, including status, cancellation charges, refund information, and more.
2019 posted a sample of the allegedly stolen data, which included names, airport and destination names, emails, flight details, and what appears to be booking dates.
As 2019 typically does, the threat actor offered the data for a one-time sale rather than as a ransom, adding that they accept crypto as payment.
Cyber Daily reached out to BestPriceTravel for comment on the incident and is currently awaiting a response.
Who is 2019?
According to their forum profile, 2019 became active in January 2026 and has made a total of 38 posts, most of which refer to data breaches and other leaks.
Very little else is known about the hacker. They are, however, considered a trusted source of data on the forum in question.
The threat actor has targeted a large number of Australian businesses in the short time they have been active, including Court Services Victoria, Lifeline Australia, and the National Portrait Gallery.
