How to cyber: Australia’s top cyber agency releases Privileged User Training video series

The Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre has launched a video series as an introduction to cyber security for privileged users.

“As a privileged user, you hold a unique position of trust. Your elevated access to systems and data makes you a primary guardian of your organisation’s security – and a crucial line of defence against cyber threats,” the ASD’s ACSC said.

“Whether you work in government, business, critical infrastructure, or the wider community, your role is vital in keeping your organisation secure and resilient.”

There are a total of nine videos, each no more than 25 minutes long, covering topics such as how attackers think and how they choose their targets to advice on hardening data and managing risk and compliance.

The content is designed around the principles of the Australian Government Information Security Manual and meets annual training requirements.

“Whether you are responsible for system administration, network security, or broader ICT oversight, the PUT video series offers essential knowledge you can apply immediately in your role,” the ASD’s ACSC said.

“Each video delivers clear, actionable guidance to help you protect your access, safeguard your organisation, and contribute to a safer digital environment for all.”
