Cyber security firm Sophos has rolled out major enhancements to its security operations portfolio, including a new identity threat detection and response solution.
Sophos is accelerating its transformation into a full-spectrum cyber security provider, announcing significant enhancements to its security operations portfolio just eight months after acquiring Secureworks for $859 million.
The latest expansion is Sophos Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), a new offering designed to give organisations faster visibility into identity risks and stronger protection against identity-based attacks – one of the fastest-growing attack vectors globally.
The company has also introduced Sophos Advisory Services, providing penetration testing and advanced security assessments informed by Sophos X-Ops intelligence to help businesses reduce cyber risk and strengthen defences.
Sophos chief product officer Raja Patel said the company’s strategy is about delivering measurable, human-informed security outcomes at scale.
“Sophos is redefining what it means to be a trusted security partner,” Patel said.
“Our strategy is to meet organisations wherever they are in their cyber security journey, uniting advanced defences with deep human expertise to outpace adversaries. With global scale, visibility, and the intelligence of Sophos X-Ops, we’re delivering stronger outcomes today and ensuring organisations can keep their businesses running securely in the face of tomorrow’s threats.”
The acquisition of Secureworks has brought significant new capabilities into Sophos’ portfolio, including the integration of the Counter Threat Unit (CTU) into Sophos X-Ops, bolstering the company’s global intelligence with world-class adversary tracking, dark web insights, and collaboration with law enforcement.
Other developments include the integration of Sophos Endpoint with Secureworks Taegis MDR and XDR, unifying prevention, detection, and response capabilities while simplifying management and reducing cost. Sophos has also rolled out AI-powered Security Analyst and Threat Hunting assistants to accelerate investigations and automate incident response.
From November 2025, all Sophos MDR and XDR subscriptions will include third-party integrations across endpoint, firewall, network, cloud, email, and identity platforms at no extra cost – expanding visibility and helping customers maximise existing investments.
