Dior is a high-end, luxury fashion and accessory brand known for its handbags, fragrances, clothing and more. It is famous for redefining women’s fashion post World War II.

On 15 May, Dior disclosed that it had detected unauthorised activity on its systems and is dealing with a cyber incident.

Now, the company has begun notifying its customers of the breach, adding that it discovered that the incident took place on 26 January 2025, despite previous reports that they occurred in May.

“The House of Dior recently discovered that an unauthorised external party accessed some of the data we hold for our Dior Fashion and Accessories customers,” it said on its website.

The company’s notification letters, which have been submitted to several US state’s attorneys-general, revealed that personal customer data was exposed in the cyber attack.

“The Dior database contained personal information such as first and last name, contact information, address, date of birth, and other information you may have provided to Dior, such as a passport or government ID number, including in a small number of cases, Social Security number,” the notice said.

“Importantly, no payment information, including bank account or payment card information, was contained in the database accessed.”

Dior said it has begun an investigation into the breach with the assistance of third-party cyber experts and has bolstered its security. The third-party experts have confirmed that the incident was contained and that there is no evidence of access other than on 26 January.

“We recommend you remain vigilant for incidents of fraud and identity theft. We also recommend that you continue to review your financial accounts, account statements, and free credit reports for any suspicious activity,” Dior said.
