The ransomware group INC Ransom has listed two new Australian victims on its darknet leak site.

The hackers have not shared many details of each hack aside from the names of the victims, and some limited information on each.

The first victim is listed as Terence C Ringland & Co Pty Ltd, a Maroubra, NSW-based company that trades as Terry Ringland Chartered Accountants.

INC Ransom’s second Aussie victim – both of whom were listed last week on 17 July – is listed as Secountryvets_AU, though the company is listed as South East Country Vets in the description of the victim.

South East Country Vets operates three veterinary practices in Queensland: Toogoolawah, Blackbutt, and Crows Nest.

No details regarding ransom amounts or payment deadlines have been listed, nor the amount of data stolen in each alleged hack. INC Ransom listed six other victims on the same day.

INC Ransom was first observed in August 2023 and has claimed attacks on a total of 375 victims since then.

The gang is known for its spear phishing tactics, which it employs to get into target networks, and for using double-extortion techniques to pressure its victims, both encrypting the data it steals and then threatening to publish that data online.

It mostly targets entities in Europe and North America, but it has also targeted a significant number of Australian organisations. Its most recent Australian victim was fibre installation firm Expert Data Cabling, which was listed on INC Ransom’s leak site in March.

However, the gang has been highly active in the region as well. INC Ransom has claimed attacks on a New Zealand hardware firm and a medical centre in June and July, respectively, while the gang also claimed responsibility for a crippling hack that disrupted the services of Tonga’s Ministry of Health late last month.

Neither Terry Ringland Chartered Accountants nor South East Country Vets responded to Cyber Daily’s requests for comment.
