Global physical security firm assessed to meet all of the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) Essential Eight requirements.
Physical security firm Genetec has announced a successful assessment of its alignment with the ACSC’s Essential Eight cyber security requirements.
Australian cyber security firm CyberCX carried out the Essential Eight Maturity Assessment, and – according to Genetec – the positive result demonstrates the company’s commitment to protecting sensitive data and its readiness to provide security solutions to entities within the public and private sectors.
“Today, every organisation’s risk and compliance strategy must integrate advanced cyber security measures where both IT departments and the C-suite are confident in their providers’ physical security posture. The technology that underpins this stance is paramount and must match and/or exceed policy mandates,” George Moawad, Genetec’s country manager for Oceania, said in a 6 May statement.
“Essential Eight alignment means that our customers can now be even more confident in the cyber security posture of Genetec. However, just as the Essential Eight continues to evolve, so must preventative measures. By implementing controls such as those detailed in the Essential Eight, enterprises and government organisations can reduce the likelihood of falling victim to an attack.”
The ACSC’s Essential Eight framework is designed to give network defenders a clear set of mitigation guidelines to protect their organisations against a wide range of cyber threats.
