The company announced Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a product that features a Google-managed Financial Research agent, as well as more than 50 specialised skills, 13 enterprise-grade data connectors and a number of third-party agents that is still growing.
According to Google, the model aims to address the challenges of needing a one-stop shop AI that maintains speed while also being secure, having appropriate data lineage for regulated institutions and real-time precision, by having the required data, expertise, systems and controls necessary for the financial services industry.
"Financial professionals are looking for an AI platform that doesn't lock them into any one model or ecosystem, connects to the IT systems they use every day, and is highly secure and compliant," said Google Cloud CEO, Thomas Kurian.
"With Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, we are delivering exactly that—agentic capabilities for financial workflows, built with verifiable data explainability, so institutions can turn AI innovation into a confident competitive advantage."
The agentic AI has been designed from the ground up, according to Google parent company Alphabet, with the intention of meeting data residency and critical regulatory requirements. It also integrates news feeds, regulatory filings, market data and internal databases to ensure that outputs are informed on all relevant factors.
Users and analysts can use the tool to streamline operations like enhancing portfolio resilience, accelerate bond issuance, uncover credit market opportunities and more.
While the model is currently still in preview, institutions like Deutsche Bank AG and CME Group Inc. have already adopted the platform.
Deutsche Bank played a role in the model's development, by contributing its banking industry expertise to help Google Cloud tailor the tool and meet security, governance and data residency requirements. The bank plans to deploy the agent in its corporate banking division.
