In a release on its website, OpenAI announced the Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, which invites companies to sign up to access its cyber security and vulnerability-finding models.
“We’re bringing OpenAI’s frontier cyber models to the security partners protecting organisations around the world. Together, we’re putting frontier intelligence directly into the products, services, and security operations defenders already depend on. More organisations can now find serious vulnerabilities, fix them faster, and stay ahead of threats moving at machine speed,” the company said.
For the program, OpenAI said it has partnered with several major security and financial services firms, including Accenture, IBM, Cognizant, EY, KPMG, PwC, NCC Group, SpecterOps, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Cisco, Sophos, Akamai, Fortinet, and Cloudflare.
“These partners bring deep security expertise and established relationships with organisations around the world. By bringing our frontier cyber models into their services, we can help more defenders find serious vulnerabilities, validate which ones matter, and fix them faster,” OpenAI said.
The program will offer approved partners access to the AI giant’s most advanced cyber AI models, allowing them to integrate the technology into their workflows and security operations.
“Partners can access Daybreak Blue or Daybreak Red through Daybreak Access, depending on their needs and the work involved. Daybreak Blue supports a broad range of defensive security workflows, while Daybreak Red is designed for more specialised, closely governed work, including red teaming and penetration testing,” OpenAI said.
“This gives organisations a practical way to benefit from frontier cyber models without having to build and run their own specialised cyber AI programs.”
Cloudflare chief technology officer Dane Knecht said that combining the capabilities of Daybreak with its network will allow companies to action threat intelligence rapidly and effectively.
“AI presents huge potential in cyber security, but its true power lies in how practitioners apply it in the real world. By pairing OpenAI’s Daybreak capabilities with Cloudflare’s global network – one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world – we give security teams the speed and precision required to turn deep threat intelligence into immediate action,” he said.
“Together, we’re enabling teams to find, test, and resolve critical security risks safely, efficiently, and at scale.”
